Streetwear
A casual fashion culture and style language shaped by everyday city dress, sneakers, graphics and subcultural influences.
What does Streetwear mean?
Streetwear describes more than clothes photographed on a street. It is a style and fashion culture with roots in communities around skateboarding, surf, hip-hop and sneakers, and it has taken many forms as it spread. Contemporary outfits may mix relaxed shapes, trainers, workwear, graphics and designer pieces, but no single product defines the whole category.
What it looks like in real life
A person wears loose trousers, a graphic tee, an open overshirt and worn-in trainers. They could swap the graphic tee for a plain one and change the mood without replacing the whole outfit. The interest comes from fit, layers and personal references, not merely a logo.
What people often get wrong
Streetwear is not the same as street style. Street style is fashion observed and photographed in public; streetwear is a particular style culture that can appear in those photographs. Nor is every hoodie or pair of sneakers automatically streetwear without the wider context of the outfit.
How to use the idea
Start with a combination you already wear and adjust one element: a relaxed layer, different trouser volume or trainers. Notice the cultural references you are borrowing and avoid treating every community-rooted style as a disposable trend. Fit and comfort matter more than buying a hyped release.
